In de periode van 12 februari tot en met 14 april worden de senioren van TOP versterkt door 2 Internationals uit Nieuw Zeeland. Tayla Hardy en Scarlet Kirby zijn speciaal naar Nederland gekomen om zich verder te ontwikkelen in het korfbal en daarnaast het verenigingsleven te proeven. Tayla en Scarlett zijn toegevoegd aan TOP 6. Zij stellen zichzelf even voor.

Tayla:
My Name is Tayla, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand. I started playing Korfball when I was 17. I played a lot of netball and basketball before that. In the last 3/4 years I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel both to Senior world champs and U21 world champs. I came here for a challenge seeing korfball played in a top country and wanting to experience it and fully be a part of it.
I have 2 siblings. My brother (Josh) and sister (Georgia). I've recently graduated at the end of 2024 with 2 diplomas in Sport, recreation and applied exercise science.
Coming over to the Netherlands, my hope is to make lots of memories and meet lots of new people and improve/learn some dutch. After playing at world champs in Turkey I knew I wanted to up-skill both my korfball knowledge and technical skills. Manon Wiegerink is a massive reason for how our idea of coming to the Netherlands and learn from players and coaches here to improve our game has become a reality.
At TOP I hope to continue to learn and grow both as a player and person. Already being here, training and even by watching other play I am getting better and have already learned so much from everyone we have trained with.
My first impression of TOP was the size of this club and the amount of people all together that play korfball. It was awesome to see how many people play and watch korfball. The thing that has made it less daunting is that everyone was so welcoming and friendly and grateful for translating for us!
We are both very excited for the weeks to come!

Hello! My name is Scarlett Kirby, I am 20 years old and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I am currently in my third year of study towards a Bachelor of Science and Sport. I have three brothers and one sister, and have grown up playing numerous different sports.
I started playing Korfball at 16 years old and have since travelled around the world with it, representing New Zealand twice thus far at U21 level.
After getting to experience the high level of European korfball in 2024, I decided I really wanted to grow my game and immerse myself into a true korfball community, in order to learn and gain insight from experts of the sport. I hope that I can improve both my knowledge and understanding of korfball, as well as my physical ability and skills, throughout my time at TOP. I already feel I have learnt so much in such a short time of being here and am so excited for our stay here - TOP has such a special family environment and I already feel at home.
